Juhar Mahiruddin appointed President of the State


KUALA LUMPUR, 22 December - Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin today bestowed the instrument of appointment of Datuk Juhar Mahiruddin as President of the new State.

Ceremony held at the Small Throne Room, Istana Negara, witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Also present were Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, President of the United Pasok Momogun Kadazan Organisation (Upko) Tan Sri Bernard Dompok and Minister in the Prime Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon.

Juhar, 57, the President of the State to-10, replacing the Culture and Environment, which expires on Dec 31 of this service.

Juhar Sabah is among the leaders involved with negotiations USNO / UMNO UMNO for admission to the state in 1991.

He was the Deputy President of the House of Representatives (1990-1999), Member of Parliament for Kinabatangan (also 1990-1999) and Chairman of Umno Batu Sapi Division (2003-2008).

Holders of bachelor of law before it ever became a magistrate.

Current position he was Speaker of the State. - BERNAMA.
